Lion’s History……….
LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL was founded in 1917 in the United States by businessman Melvin Jones who felt that successful people like himself and his colleagues should devote some of the energies which had enabled them to succeed in business to serving their local communities. Appropriately he chose “We Serve” as the Lions’ motto.
Lions Clubs now exist in more than 170 countries and more than 2.5 million men and women wear the distinctive lapel pin.Welcome to the Lions Club of Narammala Golden jubilee.
Since 2008 the Narammala Golden jubilee Lions Club has proudly served the Narammala, Kurunegala area, Srilanka, and the world.

Historic Achievement for Narammala Golden Jubilee Lions Club! 
We are proud to announce our greatest accomplishment as the Narammala Golden Jubilee Lions Club - securing a donation of Rs. 1.7 million from Lions International to establish an Eye Surgery Unit at Dambadeniya Government Hospital.
On February 5th, 2026, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the hospital premises by:

The signing ceremony took place during a special event graced by His Excellency Tissa Kumarasiri Weerasooriya, Governor of the North Western Province.

There is someone who must be mentioned first in this historic victory. He is the past Governor Lion Gnanasena Goonapinuwala . It was on the occasion when he participated as the chief guest at an event of our Lions Club that this unique project idea was presented to us.

On this occasion, we fondly remember Past District Governors Lion Anura dissanayake and Lion Viraj Wickramasinghe, who were especially dedicated and committed to this special project for our Lions Club.
